Dry Red Table Wine
69 cases produced
Grape: 100% gamaya noir
Alcohol: 11.6%
Total added sulfite: 55 ppm
Ingredients: Grapes, yeast, sulfite
Machine harvested - October 1
Crushed and destemmed
11 days on skins
Neutral French oak barrels for 11 months
Unfined and unfiltered
Farming: New York State Certified Sustainable
Vineyard: Lake Road Vineyard - Cayuga Lake - King Ferry - west facing, gentle slope
Soil: Gravelly loam over shale and slate

Note: Ripe strawberry, cocoa powder, lightly herbal, chalky and bright.

Elevage: Grapes were crushed into a bin and left to ferment with once daily punchdowns. After eleven days the grapes were pressed and settled juice was moved to old French oak barrels to complete fermentation, including full malolactic, which finished in early-summer 2025. In September the wine was racked off its lees and bottled without fining or filtration.

Miscellaneous: Every once in a while we luck out and find some gamay grapes. This fruit came from a new vineyard on the east side of Cayuga Lake planted and meticulously cared for by Ryan Fessenden. A bright, beautiful, red-fruited gamay with shale in its veins.
