Settled, oxidized juice was pumped into a 1000 liter stainless steel tank, an ambient yeast fermentation began quickly and finished by mid-November, malolactic occurred the following spring. In September of 2015 the wine was racked off its lees and gravity bottled by hand without fining or filtration.

TASTING NOTE: 2014 Eminence Road - Gewurztraminer - Elizabeth's Vineyard - A lightly bronze colored, classic, dry gewurztraminer with scents of roses, lychee, tangerine and mineral. A terrific food wine with ample body and a clean, bright finish, pair it with roast pork, bratwurst, Asian style chili sauces and savory vegetable dishes. Serve cool but never cold to get the most of the wild aromas. An open bottle will continue to evolve and gain depth and complexity for five or more days. It will not oxidize. Leave your bottle on a cool kitchen counter, not in the fridge, please, and stick with it for a week or two. You'll be glad you did.

ELIZABETH'S VINEYARD: Located in Hector, New York on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, this twenty-seven acre vineyard is composed of shallow loam soil over shale on a slope leading to some of the lake's deepest waters. Among the pinot noir, cabernet franc and riesling, grower John Leidenfrost also maintains blocks of spur pruned cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay over a quarter century old. This vineyard's privileged exposure and thin, shale laden soil produces wine of great depth and backbone.
